Consumers whose sellers make false price cuts can report the situation to the local price department, or can file a lawsuit to the court to demand compensation from the merchants.
The relevant departments shall order the merchants to correct such acts, confiscate the illegal income, and may impose a fine of less than five times the illegal income; If the circumstances are serious, it shall be ordered to suspend business for rectification, or the administrative department for industry and commerce shall revoke its business license.

In Article 40 of the Price Law, if an operator commits one of the acts listed in Article 14 of this Law, it shall be ordered to correct, its illegal income shall be confiscated, and a fine of less than five times the illegal income may be imposed; If there are no illegal gains, a warning shall be given and a fine may be imposed concurrently; If the circumstances are serious, it shall be ordered to suspend business for rectification, or the administrative department for industry and commerce shall revoke its business license.
Where there are otherwise provisions in relevant laws on the punishment of the acts listed in Article 14 of this Law and the punishment authorities, the provisions of relevant laws may apply.
The acts listed in Items (1) and (2) of Article 14 of this Law, which are national in nature, shall be determined by the competent price department of the State Council; If it is a regional one at or below the provincial level, it shall be determined by the competent price department of the people's government of the province, autonomous region, or municipality directly under the Central Government.
