Separation can be proved by the following evidence:
1. A contract whereby one party rents out a house.
2. The separation agreement signed by both parties.
3. The separation is mentioned in letters, emails and short messages of both parties.
3. Witness testimony from the surrounding neighbors.
[Legal basis] According to Article 63 of the Civil Procedure Law, evidence includes:

（3） Physical evidence;
（4） Audio-visual materials;
（5） Electronic data;
（6） Witness testimony;
（7） Appraisal opinions;
（8） Record of inspection. Evidence must be verified before it can be used as the basis for ascertaining facts.
