The legal sentencing standard for the crime of bigamy is: fixed-term imprisonment of not more than two years, or criminal detention of not less than one month but not more than six months. Bigamy is a crime of bigamy if one has a spouse or marries another knowing that another has a spouse. Our country clearly stipulates that bigamy is prohibited, and cohabitation with another is prohibited. Bigamy can be divided into two situations: first, the original marriage relationship exists, and marriage registration is handled with the opposite sex outside marriage by taking advantage of the gap of asynchronous information between civil affairs bureaus. Second, the original marriage relationship exists, but lives together with the opposite sex outside marriage in the name of husband and wife.
 If one party commits the crime of bigamy, the other party may bring a private prosecution or a public prosecution to a people's court. The people's court, after trial, determines that the facts of the crime are tenable, and the criminal suspect of bigamy shall be sentenced to criminal punishment according to law.
