The Constitution of our country stipulates citizens' rights to equality, supervision and freedom of speech, freedom of religious belief, education, personal freedom, the right to vote and stand for election, freedom of communication and privacy, inviolability of personality, and material assistance. Workers also have the right to rest.

Citizens of the People's Republic of China have freedom of speech, of the press, of assembly, of association, of procession and of demonstration.
Article 37 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of China
The freedom of the person of citizens of the People's Republic of China is inviolable.
No citizen may be arrested unless approved or decided by the People's Procuratorate or decided by the People's Court and executed by the public security organ.
Unlawful detention and unlawful deprivation or restriction of citizens' freedom of the person by other means are prohibited, and unlawful search of citizens' bodies is prohibited.
