For a coerced marriage, the coerced party may apply to the people's court for the dissolution of the marriage, but it is not necessary to appeal. A request for dissolution of marriage shall be made within one year from the date of termination of the coercive act. If a party whose personal freedom is illegally restricted requests the dissolution of his marriage, he shall do so within one year from the date when his personal freedom is restored.
    Legal basis:
Article 1052 of the Civil Code of the People's Republic of China
If a marriage is made under duress, the coerced party may request the people's court to revoke the marriage.
A request for dissolution of marriage shall be made within one year from the date of termination of the coercive act.
If a party whose personal freedom is illegally restricted requests the dissolution of his marriage, he shall do so within one year from the date when his personal freedom is restored.
