The process of foreign trademark registration is as follows: First, the applicant should apply to the Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce. The application documents include: a completed application for China's international registration, which must be stamped with the official seal, a copy of the domestic trademark registration certificate or preliminary approval announcement, a letter of attorney, and two trademark drawings. If the trademark is color, two color trademark drawings are required. Secondly, after receiving the application documents with complete formalities, namely the registration application date, the Trademark Office numbered the application number, calculated the fees required to be paid by the applicant, and sent the Fee Notice to the applicant. The applicant shall pay the fee according to the amount as soon as possible after receiving the Fee Notice, and the Trademark Office will submit the application to the International Bureau only after receiving the full amount of remittance. If the applicant wants to designate a country that is both a member country of the Agreement and a member country of the Protocol for protection, but the trademark applied for registration in the country has not yet been registered, or has just submitted an application, it is suggested that the applicant can first apply for international registration in the member country of the Protocol, and then apply for later territorial extension in the member country of the Agreement after the trademark is registered in the country.

    Legal basis:

Article 1 of the Trademark Law of the People's Republic of China is formulated with a view to strengthening the administration of trademarks, protecting the exclusive right to use trademarks, urging producers and business operators to guarantee the quality of goods and services, maintaining the reputation of trademarks, safeguarding the interests of consumers, producers and business operators, and promoting the development of the socialist market economy.
