According to Article 37 of the Marriage Law, after divorce, one party shall bear part or all of the necessary living expenses and education expenses for the children raised by the other party. If the two parties fail to reach an agreement on the amount and duration of the expenses, the people's court shall make a judgment. The agreement or judgment on the children's living expenses and education expenses shall not prevent the children from making reasonable demands to either of the parents in excess of the original amount of the agreement or judgment when necessary. Once the amount of child support is determined, both parties shall abide by it. The party who pays the child support shall pay it on time and in accordance with the amount, and the party who raises the child shall not arbitrarily ask for an increase in the amount of child support. But the amount of alimony is not always the same. Under the following circumstances, the party raising a child may request an increase in the amount of alimony: 1) The original amount of alimony is not enough to maintain the actual living standard of the place where the child lives; 2) The actual needs of children due to illness, school, etc. have exceeded the original amount; 3) There are other justifiable reasons for the increase. For example, the original alimony was set several years or even more years ago, which has not kept pace with the increase in prices. Both parties can negotiate to increase the amount of alimony. If negotiation fails or without negotiation, they can sue the court for an increase. However, the plaintiff is a minor child, and the parents who raise the child are their legal representatives.
