1. After divorce, the household registration of both parties will be separated, that is, each person will have a household registration book, take the household registration book and go to the local police station's household registration office. The staff will fill out a household registration transfer card for you, and then cancel the household registration from the local household registration file. Take your hukou transfer certificate to the local police station where you want to settle down. For example, you can move your hukou back to your work unit by providing the certificate of your work unit.
2. According to the household registration management regulations in China, children can follow their father or mother in their household registration, which is generally solved by the following ways:
（1） The child's right of custody belongs to whom the child's household registration belongs;
（2） If the child is under 18 years old, the parents can handle the household registration transfer on behalf of the child;
（3） If the child is over 18 years old, he/she can go to handle the household registration transfer by himself/herself;
（4） If you are over 18 years old, you can go through separate procedures at the public security organ with your household registration book and ID card.
