To terminate the cohabitation relationship through consultation, or to sue in the court to terminate the cohabitation relationship, and to sue for children and property division at the same time.
 If before February 1, 1994, the cohabitation relationship constituted a de facto marriage, and both men and women did not register for marriage in accordance with the Marriage Law but lived together in the name of husband and wife, if it met the substantive requirements of marriage, it shall be treated as a de facto marriage. This kind of de facto marriage is equal to legal marriage, and is protected by law. The dissolution of the de facto marriage relationship generally requires legal proceedings.
 However, after February 1, 1994, if both men and women met the substantive requirements of marriage but did not apply for marriage registration, they were not recognized as de facto marriages. If it needs to be dissolved, it shall be handled as a cohabitation relationship. If a party brings a lawsuit due to a dispute over property division or child rearing during cohabitation, the court shall accept it. However, the court will not accept a lawsuit filed by a party only for the dissolution of the cohabitation relationship.
