China's Marriage Law stipulates in principle that if one party raises children after divorce, the other party shall bear the maintenance fee. If both parties fail to reach an agreement on the amount and duration of alimony, the court shall make a judgment.
 The judicial interpretation of the Marriage Law (I) further clarifies that the specific contents of alimony are children's living expenses, education expenses, medical expenses, etc. At the same time, the judicial interpretation also defines the scope of children who cannot live independently. The Supreme People's Court's Fa Fa () No. 30 opinion specifically stipulates the method of determining the amount of alimony and the way of payment. The opinion stipulates that the amount of alimony is generally determined according to 2030 of different income standards, but the maximum amount shall not exceed 50. At the same time, it also stipulates that alimony shall be paid regularly, and can be paid once if conditions permit.
