The maximum term of individual land lease contract is 20 years.

The term of state-owned land lease includes short-term lease and long-term lease. Land for short-term use or for building temporary buildings shall be subject to short-term lease, with the lease term generally not exceeding 5 years; The land to be used for a long time after the construction of above ground buildings and structures shall be subject to long-term lease. The lease term shall be agreed in the lease contract, but the maximum lease term shall not exceed the maximum term of land for the same purpose.

    [Legal Basis]

Article 705 of the Civil Code states that the lease term shall not exceed 20 years. If it has been more than 20 years, the excess part shall be invalid.

When the lease term expires, the parties may renew the lease contract; However, the agreed lease term shall not exceed 20 years from the date of renewal.
