    "Lack of weight" is a fraud. The Law on the Protection of the Rights and Interests of Consumers stipulates that the penalty for fraud should be increased according to the requirements of consumers to compensate for the losses they have suffered. The amount of increased compensation should be three times the price of goods purchased or the cost of services received by consumers; If the amount of additional compensation is less than 500 yuan, it is 500 yuan.

    Legal basis

    Article 48 of the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of the Rights and Interests of Consumers, a business operator shall bear civil liability in accordance with the provisions of other relevant laws and regulations, unless otherwise provided in this Law, if it is involved in any of the following circumstances in providing goods or services:
    (1) The goods or services are defective;
    (2) It does not have the service performance that a commodity should have, but it is not explained when it is sold;
    (3) Not conforming to the commodity standards indicated on the commodity or its package;
    (4) where the quality condition indicated by way of commodity description or physical sample, etc, is not met;
    (5) Producing commodities that have been officially eliminated by the State or selling expired or deteriorated commodities;
    (6) where a commodity sold is not adequate in quantity;
    (7) The contents and fees of the service violate the agreement;
    (8) where demands by a consumer for repair, redoing, replacement, return, making up the quantity of a commodity, refund of a commodity purchase price or service fee or claims for compensation have been delayed deliberately or rejected without reason; or;
    (9) Other circumstances that damage the rights and interests of consumers as stipulated by laws and regulations.
    Business operators who fail to fulfill their obligations of safety and security to consumers and cause damage to consumers shall bear the liability for infringement.

    Article 55 of the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of the Rights and Interests of Consumers, if a business operator commits fraud in providing goods or services, it shall, at the request of a consumer, increase the compensation for the losses it has suffered, and the amount of the increased compensation shall be three times the price of the goods purchased or the cost of the services received by the consumer; If the amount of additional compensation is less than 500 yuan, it is 500 yuan. If the law provides otherwise, such provisions shall prevail.
    Where a business operator, knowing that a commodity or service is defective, still provides it to a consumer, causing death or serious health damage to the consumer or other victim, the victim shall have the right to claim damages from the business operator in accordance with the provisions of Articles 49 and 51 of this Law and other laws, and shall have the right to claim punitive damages of less than twice the amount of the losses suffered.
