If the marriage certificate is lost, the marriage certificate can be reissued first, and then the divorce registration procedures can be carried out.
When a marriage certificate is reissued, the party concerned shall take the household register and ID card to the original marriage registration authority or the marriage registration authority in the place where one party's permanent residence is located.
[Legal Basis]
In Article 17 of the Marriage Registration Regulations, if the marriage certificate or divorce certificate is lost or damaged, the party concerned may apply to the original marriage registration authority or the marriage registration authority in the place where one party's permanent residence is located for a replacement with the household register and ID card.
The marriage registration authority shall verify the marriage registration files of the parties and, if it is confirmed to be true, shall reissue the marriage certificate and divorce certificate for the parties.
