The housing compensation fee shall be calculated at the unit price of square meter based on the structure and depreciation degree of the house to be demolished. Turnover compensation is used to compensate for the inconvenience of temporary housing or finding temporary accommodation by the relocated housing residents. It is filed according to the temporary living conditions and subsidized monthly according to the population of the relocated housing residents. The transformation of shantytowns is a livelihood project launched by the Chinese government to transform the dilapidated houses in cities and towns and improve the housing conditions of poor families. The compensation for the reconstruction of shantytowns should be distributed according to the area and number of households to be expropriated and the financial situation.

Article 17 of the Regulations on the Expropriation and Compensation of Houses on State owned Land, the compensation given by the municipal and county people's governments that make the decision on the expropriation of houses to the expropriated includes:
（1） Compensation for the value of the house expropriated;
（2） Compensation for relocation and temporary resettlement caused by house expropriation;
（3） Compensation for the loss of production and business suspension caused by the expropriation of houses. The people's governments at the municipal and county levels shall formulate measures for subsidies and rewards, and give subsidies and rewards to the people who are expropriated.
Article 7 of the Administrative Measures for the Special Funds for the Central Subsidy of Urban Shantytown Reconstruction, the subsidy funds for urban shantytown reconstruction shall be allocated according to the two factors of the area of urban shantytown reconstruction (acquisition) and the number of urban shantytown reconstruction (acquisition) in each region, as well as the corresponding weight, and in combination with the degree of financial difficulties.
