    unwanted. If both parties have gone through divorce registration procedures at the marriage registration office and issued a divorce certificate, the divorce agreement shall have legal effect.
    According to the regulations of the Marriage Registration Standard:
    Article 56 When accepting an application for divorce registration, the marriage registrar shall follow the following procedures:
    (1) Ask the parties separately about their wishes for divorce and their wishes for the contents of the divorce agreement, and make a written record. The written record shall be read and signed by the parties.
    (2) Examine the certificates and materials specified in Article 55 of these Specifications. If the party applying for divorce registration has lost one marriage certificate, the party shall declare in writing that it is lost, and the marriage registration authority may handle divorce registration according to the other marriage certificate; If the party applying for divorce registration loses both marriage certificates, the party concerned shall declare in writing that the marriage certificate is lost and provide a copy of the marriage registration file with the special seal for file search. The marriage registration authority may handle divorce registration according to the above materials provided by the party concerned.
    (3) If both parties are willing to divorce and agree on matters such as child rearing, property and debt handling, both parties shall fill in the Declaration of Application for Divorce Registration;
    The signature in the "declarant" column of the Declaration of Application for Divorce Registration must be completed by the declarant in front of the supervisor and fingerprinted;
    The marriage registrar shall act as the commissioner for oaths and sign in the column of commissioner for oaths.
    (4) Both husband and wife shall sign the divorce agreement on the spot; The marriage registrar may stamp the divorce agreement with a rectangular seal of "This is the same as the filed copy, and it is invalid if altered. The marriage registration office is on MM/DD/YYYY". Both the husband and the wife have one copy of the agreement, and the marriage registration office has one copy on file. If the party concerned requests the marriage registration authority to copy the divorce agreement due to the loss of the divorce agreement and other reasons, the marriage registration file shall be consulted in accordance with the provisions of the Measures for the Administration of Marriage Registration Files.
    After the divorce registration is completed, if the party concerned requests to change the divorce agreement or change the content of the divorce agreement, the marriage registration authority will not accept it.
