    A teacher who leaves the country without permission shall be given a demerit recording sanction; If the circumstances are relatively serious, the post shall be demoted or dismissed; If the circumstances are serious, they shall be dismissed.

    At present, education in many places stipulates that primary and secondary school teachers should report for record when they travel abroad. According to the Interim Provisions on Punishment of Public Institution Staff, those who commit one of the following acts will be given a demerit recording punishment; If the circumstances are relatively serious, the post shall be demoted or dismissed; If the circumstances are serious, they shall be dismissed:

    (1) Spreading statements damaging the reputation of the State, organizing or participating in activities such as assemblies, processions and demonstrations aimed at harming the interests of the State;

    (2) Organizing or participating in illegal organizations;

    (3) Accepting overseas funds to engage in activities that harm national interests or endanger national security;

    (4) Accepting an invitation or award from abroad that harms the honor and interests of the state, and refusing to correct after criticism and education;

    (5) Violating the national laws, regulations and policies on ethnic and religious affairs, causing adverse consequences;

    (6) Illegally leaving the country, obtaining permanent residence abroad without approval, or acquiring foreign nationality;

    (7) Entering the country (territory) with books and periodicals, audio-visual products and electronic reading materials containing contents prohibited by law;

    (8) Other violations of political discipline.

    Legal basis

    Article 16 of the Interim Provisions on the Punishment of Staff Members of Public Institutions shall be given a demerit recording sanction for any of the following acts:; If the circumstances are relatively serious, the post shall be demoted or dismissed; If the circumstances are serious, the offender shall be dismissed: (1) spreading remarks damaging the reputation of the State, organizing or participating in assemblies, processions, demonstrations and other activities aimed at harming the interests of the State; (2) Organizing or participating in illegal organizations; (3) Accepting overseas funds to engage in activities that harm national interests or endanger national security; (4) Accepting an invitation or award from abroad that harms the honor and interests of the state, and refusing to correct after criticism and education; (5) Violating the national laws, regulations and policies on ethnic and religious affairs, causing adverse consequences; (6) Illegally leaving the country, obtaining permanent residence abroad without approval or obtaining foreign nationality; (7) Entering the country (territory) with books and periodicals, audio-visual products and electronic reading materials containing contents prohibited by law; (8) Other violations of political discipline.
