Legal basis
Article 129 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of China establishes the Supreme People's Court, local people's courts at all levels, military courts and other special people's courts. The term of office of the President of the Supreme People's Court is the same as that of the National People's Congress, and he may not serve more than two consecutive terms.
