According to the law, if one of the husband and wife has one of the following four situations, the other party without fault can claim compensation for mental damage:
First, bigamy;
Second, the spouse cohabits with others;
Third, domestic violence;
Fourth, maltreating or abandoning family members.

Article 1091 of the Civil Code stipulates that the faultless party has the right to claim damages if divorce is caused by one of the following circumstances:
(1) Bigamy;
(2) Cohabitation with others;
(3) Domestic violence;
(4) Abuse or abandon family members;
