Marriage must meet the following four conditions:
1. Both men and women must be completely voluntary.
2. Must reach the legal age for marriage. The age of marriage shall not be earlier than 22 for men and 20 for women.
3. Conform to monogamy. A person with a spouse can remarry only after the termination of the original marriage relationship.
4. There is no law prohibiting marriage between one party or both parties. Under the following circumstances, one cannot marry:
(1) Bigamy;
(2) Marriage is prohibited if they are lineal relatives by blood or collateral relatives by blood within three generations.

Article 1046 of the Civil Code stipulates that marriage should be a matter of the complete voluntariness of both men and women. It is forbidden for either party to force the other party, or for any organization or individual to interfere. (The effective date of the Civil Code is January 1, 2021)
