The yellow line is generally used on the two-way single lane, and the double yellow line is generally used on the two-way multi lane. The road using the double yellow line will be wider.

Single and double yellow solid lines cannot be pressed, crossed or turned. They can only turn around after they become dotted lines. If only one side of the double yellow line is dotted, then only cars on the other side of the dotted line can turn around. The main difference between them is that the single yellow line is generally used on the two-way single lane, while the double yellow line is generally used on the two-way multi lane, and the roads using the double yellow line are generally wider. When driving, we must pay attention to that if we encounter a single or double yellow solid line, we must not let the vehicle press the line, cross the line or turn around at this place. Only when the solid line becomes a dotted line can we turn around. However, sometimes there is only one dotted line in the double yellow line. In this case, only vehicles on the other side of the double yellow line can turn around, but not on the other side of the solid line.

    Legal basis

Article 90 of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China, if a motor vehicle driver violates the road traffic safety laws and regulations on road passage, he shall be given a warning or fined not less than 20 yuan but not more than 200 yuan. If this Law provides otherwise, punishment shall be imposed in accordance with the provisions.
