The scope of Chinese legal successors includes:
 (1) Spouse. After divorce or illegal cohabitation, both men and women have no spouse status, so they have no right to inherit from each other.
 (2) Children. It includes legitimate children, illegitimate children, adopted children and step children with dependency relationship.
 (3) Parents. They include biological parents, adoptive parents and step parents who are dependent.
 (4) Brothers and sisters. They include brothers and sisters with the same parents, half brothers and sisters, foster brothers and sisters, and brothers and sisters who are dependent. As for brothers and sisters with different fathers and mothers, if they actually support each other, they should also enjoy the right of inheritance.
 (5) Grandparents. They include birth grandparents, birth grandparents, adoptive grandparents, adoptive grandparents, step grandparents and step grandparents who have a dependency relationship. At the same time, according to Article 12 of the Inheritance Law of the People's Republic of China, a daughter-in-law who has lost his or her spouse and a son-in-law who has lost his or her spouse and has made major maintenance obligations to his or her parents in law are also legal heirs. Grandchildren and grandchildren are also legal heirs, who inherit the property in the form of subrogation.
