 Legal basis
 Article 2 of the Regulations on the Administration of Live Pig Slaughtering The state implements the system of designated slaughter of live pigs; No unit or individual is allowed to engage in pig slaughtering activities without a designated point, except for individual slaughtering and eating in rural areas. In remote and inaccessible rural areas, the establishment of small pig slaughterhouses limited to supplying pig products to the local market should meet the following conditions: (1) There should be slaughterhouses and slaughtering equipment suitable for the slaughter scale; （2） There are slaughtering technicians who have legally obtained health certificates of food practitioners; （3） There are qualified meat quality inspectors; （4） Obtain the qualification certificate for animal epidemic prevention according to law. After the completion of the designated pig slaughterhouse (farm, site), the applicant shall apply to the commerce administrative department of the municipal people's government with districts where it is located for acceptance. The competent commercial administrative department shall, within 10 days from the date of receiving the application for acceptance, organize the relevant departments to carry out the acceptance. If it passes the inspection, the people's government of the city divided into districts shall issue the certificate of designated pig slaughtering and the signboard of designated pig slaughtering to the applicant; Those who fail to pass the acceptance shall be ordered to rectify within a time limit. The applicant shall go through the registration formalities with the administrative department for industry and commerce with the certificate of designated slaughter of live pigs.
 Article 31 of the Regulations on the Administration of Pig Slaughtering, in violation of the provisions of these Regulations, those who engage in pig slaughtering activities without being designated, shall be ordered by the competent agricultural and rural authorities to close down and confiscate live pigs, pig products, slaughtering tools and equipment and illegal income; If the value of goods is less than 10000 yuan, a fine between 50000 yuan and 100000 yuan shall be imposed; If the value of goods is more than 10000 yuan, a fine of 10 times to 20 times the value of goods shall be imposed.
