In our country, it is stipulated that marriage under duress can be revoked by the people's court, because it violates the principle of freedom of marriage and complete voluntariness of marriage. Therefore, the law gives the coerced party the right to revoke the marriage.
Article 11 of the Marriage Law stipulates that: "If a marriage is made under duress, the coerced party may apply to the marriage registration authority or the people's court for cancellation of the marriage".
