Both parties to a divorce should bring relevant materials to the Civil Affairs Bureau for divorce procedures. Specifically:
1. Prepare relevant certificates. Household register, ID card, marriage certificate. Foreigners also need to provide their own valid passports or valid identity documents in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
2. Prepare relevant materials. Two two inch photos and the divorce agreement signed by both parties.
3. Both husband and wife should go through divorce procedures in person at the civil affairs bureau where one party's permanent residence is located.
4. The staff of the Civil Affairs Bureau will take back the marriage certificate and issue a divorce certificate after verification.
