Ordinary foreign-related cases are under the jurisdiction of the basic people's courts, while major foreign-related cases are under the jurisdiction of the intermediate people's courts. That is, foreign-related cases with a large amount of disputed objects; Foreign related cases with complex cases; Foreign related cases involving a large number of parties living abroad shall be under the jurisdiction of the Intermediate People's Court.
1、 The jurisdiction of civil courts is as follows:
1. The basic people's courts shall have jurisdiction as courts of first instance over civil cases, except as otherwise provided.
2. The intermediate people's courts shall have jurisdiction as courts of first instance over the following civil cases:
(1) Major foreign-related cases;
(2) Cases with significant influence in their own jurisdictions;
(3) Cases determined by the Supreme People's Court to be under the jurisdiction of intermediate people's courts.
3. The Higher People's Court shall have jurisdiction as a court of first instance over civil cases that have significant impact in its jurisdiction.
4. The Supreme People's Court shall have jurisdiction as a court of first instance over the following civil cases:
(1) Cases that have significant influence in the whole country;
(2) Cases that should be heard by the Court.
2、 The jurisdiction of the Criminal Court is as follows:
1. The basic people's courts shall have jurisdiction as courts of first instance over ordinary criminal cases, except those that are under the jurisdiction of people's courts at higher levels according to regulations.
2. The Intermediate People's Court shall have jurisdiction as a court of first instance over the following criminal cases:
(1) Cases of endangering national security and terrorist activities;
(2) Cases that may be sentenced to life imprisonment or death.
3. The criminal cases of first instance under the jurisdiction of the Higher People's Court are major criminal cases of the whole province (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government).
4. The criminal cases of first instance under the jurisdiction of the Supreme People's Court are major criminal cases nationwide.

In Article 19 of the Civil Procedure Law of the People's Republic of China, the intermediate people's courts shall have jurisdiction as courts of first instance over the following civil cases:
(1) Major foreign-related cases;
(2) Cases with significant influence in their own jurisdictions;
(3) Cases determined by the Supreme People's Court to be under the jurisdiction of intermediate people's courts.
