The Amendment to the Constitution of the People's Republic of China, adopted at the first session of the 13th National People's Congress on March 11, 2018, amended the term of office, and the current Constitution of the People's Republic of China deleted "no more than two consecutive terms of office".
Legal basis: Article 79 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of China, the President and Vice President of the People's Republic of China are elected by the National People's Congress. Citizens of the People's Republic of China who have the right to vote and stand for election and have reached the age of 45 may be elected President and Vice President of the People's Republic of China. The term of office of the President and Vice President of the People's Republic of China is the same as that of the National People's Congress.
