According to relevant laws and regulations, motor vehicles shall be subject to safety and technical inspection within the following period from the date of registration: 1. The inspection of passenger vehicles shall be conducted once a year within 5 years of operation; If it has been more than 5 years, it shall be inspected once every 6 months; 2. Trucks and large and medium-sized non operating passenger vehicles shall be inspected once a year within 10 years; If it has been over 10 years, it shall be inspected once every 6 months; 3. Small and mini non operating passenger vehicles shall be inspected once every two years within six years; If it has been more than 6 years, it shall be inspected once a year; If it has been more than 15 years, it shall be inspected once every 6 months; 4. Motorcycles within 6 years are exempt from inspection by the inspection agency. If regular inspection is required, the owner of the motor vehicle can directly apply to the public security and traffic control department for the inspection mark; 5. Tractors and other motor vehicles shall be inspected once a year. If the operating motor vehicle passes the safety technical inspection within the specified inspection period, it shall not repeat the safety technical inspection. 6. Vehicles beyond the retirement period cannot be transferred (sold) again, but can continue to be used; If you want to buy or sell the car, you can first go to the vehicle management office to handle the car scrap sheet (cancel the car's file), and then buy or sell the car.
 Legal basis
 Article 16 of the Regulations for the Implementation of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China, motor vehicles shall be subject to safety and technical inspection within the following period from the date of registration: (1) passenger carrying vehicles shall be inspected once a year within five years of operation; If it has been more than 5 years, it shall be inspected once every 6 months;

 （4） Motorcycles shall be inspected every 2 years within 4 years; If it has been more than 4 years, it shall be inspected once a year;
 （5） Tractors and other motor vehicles shall be inspected once a year.
 If the operating motor vehicle passes the safety technical inspection within the specified inspection period, it shall not repeat the safety technical inspection.
