If a Chinese citizen marries a foreigner voluntarily in China, both the male and female parties must jointly go to the marriage registration office designated by the people's government of the province, autonomous region, or municipality directly under the Central Government where the Chinese citizen's household registration is located to apply for registration of the marriage. The documents required by the parties to the marriage are as follows:
 1. Chinese citizens shall hold the following certificates: their own household registration certificate; A certificate issued by the people's government at the county level or the government, school, public institution or enterprise at or above the county level in the place where my residence is located, recording my basic information and who I married
 2. Foreigners must hold the following documents: their passports or other identity and nationality documents; The Alien Residence Permit issued by the public security organ, or the identity certificate issued by the foreign affairs department, or the entry and residence certificate for temporary visit to China; Certificate of marital status issued by a notary office of the country certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (or an organ authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and the Chinese embassy or consulate in the country, or certificate of marital status issued by the embassy or consulate in China
 3. If the foreigner is an overseas Chinese, he or she must hold the following documents: his or her passport or the identity and nationality documents in lieu of the passport (stateless persons are exempted from submitting); Alien Residence Permit issued by the public security organ; The certificate issued by the relevant unit in the place where my residence is located has the same requirements for the certificate as the second type certificate that the Chinese citizen must hold. In addition, the male and female parties applying for marriage must also submit the premarital health examination certificate issued by the hospital designated by the marriage registration authority. Chinese citizens and foreigners applying for marriage registration must hold the relevant certificate and their own photos, If an application is submitted to the marriage registration administration authority and examined by the marriage registration administration authority, and it is in conformity with the Marriage and Family Law of China and the provisions of the Ministry of Civil Affairs on foreign-related marriage registration, it shall be allowed to register, and the registration formalities shall be handled within one month. If the marriage certificate is issued and it is not registered according to law, the party concerned shall be informed of the reasons for not registering after divorce between Chinese citizens and foreigners, If both parties voluntarily request to remarry in China, the marriage shall be handled in accordance with the relevant provisions on foreign-related marriage. If both parties are foreigners and require to handle marriage registration in China, as long as they have the certificates required in the Several Provisions on Chinese and Foreign Marriage Registration and meet the marriage conditions specified in the Marriage Law of China, Marriage registration can be carried out, but in order to ensure the effectiveness of marriage registration in China, marriage parties can be asked to provide the provisions of their own laws that are valid for marriage registration in foreign countries
