To engage in food production activities within the territory of the People's Republic of China, a food production license shall be obtained according to law. To engage in food sales and catering services, a food business license shall be obtained according to law.
 Generally, the food business license can be obtained within 20 working days. After making the decision to approve the business license, the food business license shall be issued to the applicant within 10 working days from the date of making the decision. The food business license application procedures are as follows: 1. Fill in the food business license application form and submit relevant materials; 2. Submit relevant materials, and wait for the approval result after receiving the material receipt certificate or acceptance notice. 3. Obtain the Food Business License.
 Legal basis
 Article 17 of the Measures of the People's Republic of China on Food Business License, except for those who can make administrative license decisions on the spot, the local food and drug supervision and administration departments at or above the county level shall make a decision on whether to grant administrative license within 20 working days from the date of accepting the application. If the time limit needs to be extended due to special reasons, it can be extended for 10 working days with the approval of the person in charge of this administrative organ, and the applicant shall be informed of the reasons for the extension.
