    After resignation, the social security card can still be used, but only the balance of your personal medical insurance account can be used, and you can't enjoy the treatment of medical insurance as a whole due to hospitalization.

    After leaving your job, no unit will pay you social security, and the social security will be cut off. From the next month when the social security payment was cut off, the medical insurance benefits could not be enjoyed, that is to say, the social security card could not be used to go to the hospital.

    1、 What about social security after leaving?

    The following processing methods are available:

    1. After the employee leaves his/her job normally, the original company will suspend the payment of the employee's social security;

    2. If an employee finds a new job, the new unit will handle the renewal procedures on behalf of him/her;

    3. Or, before finding a new job, employees can apply for flexible employment social insurance for social insurance payment, or entrust a new unit to make up the social insurance payment after finding a new job, but the expenses needed for making up the payment need to be borne by the employees themselves;

    4. If the employee finds a new job in a different place, he or she also needs to go through the social security transfer procedures.

    2、 Can I withdraw the money from the social security card after leaving?

    If the social insurance payment is interrupted due to resignation, and you do not want to continue to participate in the insurance and withdraw the social insurance fees, this situation is not supported.

    But in these special cases, we can apply for social insurance refund and withdraw the social insurance money:

    1. China's social security system is divided into urban and rural residents' social security and urban workers' social security. These two types of social security can only enjoy one of the benefits even if they participate repeatedly. Therefore, if it is found that there are repeated payments at the same time after handling the transfer of social security across provinces and cities, you can apply to return the part with relatively low repeated payment standards.

    2. If the social insurance participants go abroad to settle down and change their nationality, they can apply for surrender.

    If the insured died of illness or non work related death without meeting the conditions for retirement procedures, his successor can inherit his personal account.

    3. If the social security payment is less than 15 years and you are unwilling to pay it back to 15 years, you can voluntarily go through the surrender and liquidation procedures.

    To sum up, after resignation, you can use the balance of the personal account of medical insurance in the social security card, but you can't use the reimbursement in the hospital. Generally speaking, after resignation, the money in the social security card can't be withdrawn.     Legal basis

    Article 50 of the Labor Contract Law of the People's Republic of China shall issue a certificate of dissolution or termination of the labor contract at the time of dissolution or termination of the labor contract, and handle the transfer procedures for the employee's files and social insurance relations within 15 days.
    The laborer shall handle the handover of work as agreed by both parties. If the employer should pay economic compensation to the worker in accordance with the relevant provisions of this Law, it shall pay it when the handover of work is completed.
