Separation does not automatically lead to divorce. According to Article 32 of the Marriage Law, one of the legal reasons for couples to divorce is that they have lived apart for two years due to emotional discord.
This refers to the legal reasons for divorce proposed by the husband and wife due to separation. This legal reason for divorce consists of two essential elements, and the absence of one does not form a legal reason for divorce.
The two prerequisites are:
1. Because of emotional discord;
2. Having lived apart for two years or more.
