Since the new rural cooperative medical system is a policy of one year for one year, and the payment period is not cumulative, the new rural cooperative medical system is always required to pay fees. As long as the payment is stopped, it will no longer enjoy the reimbursement treatment of medical insurance.
 The new rural cooperative medical system is called the new rural cooperative medical system. It refers to the system of mutual medical assistance and mutual aid for farmers, which is organized, guided and supported by the government, participated by farmers voluntarily, and funded by individuals, collectives and the government in many ways. They raise funds through individual contributions, collective support and government subsidies. In January 2016, the State Council issued the GF (2016) No. 3 document, integrating the original new rural cooperative medical care and urban residents' medical insurance into urban and rural residents' medical insurance. Since then, the new rural cooperative medical care has completed its historical mission and replaced it with urban and rural residents' medical insurance.
 Legal basis
 Article 24 of the Full Text of the Social Insurance Law of the People's Republic of China, the State establishes and improves the new rural cooperative medical system.
 Measures for the administration of the new rural cooperative medical system shall be formulated by the State Council.
