In principle, alimony should be paid regularly according to the parents' professional situation. The parent who has a fixed income or has no fixed income but has a considerable income every month shall pay the child maintenance fee on a monthly basis; Parents who are engaged in agricultural production or have higher incomes may also pay quarterly or annually.
Under special circumstances, if the party concerned is unable to pay the maintenance fee in cash, it may use the property to offset it.
It is mainly applicable to the party with no economic income or the party whose whereabouts are unknown. According to the determined amount of alimony, the property belonging to the party with no economic income or the party whose whereabouts are unknown shall be converted into alimony in an equivalent amount and delivered to the party who raises the children.
    Legal basis:
Article 37 of the Marriage Law: After divorce, for a child supported by one party, the other party shall bear part or all of the necessary living expenses and education expenses. The amount and duration of the expenses shall be agreed by both parties; If the agreement fails, the people's court shall make a judgment.
The agreement or judgment on the children's living expenses and education expenses shall not prevent the children from making reasonable demands to either of the parents in excess of the original amount of the agreement or judgment when necessary.
