Public officials who run businesses in violation of the Civil Servant Law should be punished. Generally, civil servants will be given demerit recording or major demerit recording punishment; If the circumstances are relatively serious, they shall be demoted or removed from office; If the circumstances are serious, they shall be dismissed.

Article 27 of the Regulations on the Punishment of Civil Servants in Administrative Organs who engage in or participate in profit-making activities and hold concurrent posts in enterprises or other profit-making organizations shall be given a sanction of recording a demerit or a major demerit; If the circumstances are relatively serious, they shall be demoted or removed from office; If the circumstances are serious, they shall be dismissed. Article 59 of the Civil Servant Law shall abide by the law and discipline, and shall not commit any of the following acts: (15) Violating relevant regulations to participate in prohibited online communication acts or activities; (16) Engaging in or participating in profit-making activities in violation of relevant regulations, and holding concurrent posts in enterprises or other profit-making organizations; (17) Absenteeism or going out on business, or failing to return after the expiration of the leave without proper reasons; (18) Other behaviors violating disciplines and laws.
