When the temporary license expires, an application for extension of its validity can be made. The procedures for extending the validity period of temporary license plates are the same as those for applying for temporary license plates for the first time. The owner can apply to the public security organ for temporary license plates by presenting his identity certificate, vehicle purchase invoice, new car certificate, compulsory traffic insurance certificate, or import certificate and copies of relevant certificates. The starting and ending places of vehicles and the time of using temporary plates shall be clearly stated when handling. It can be completed in about one working day, and will be postponed in case of holidays.
