Vitiligo is a common acquired pigmented skin disease, characterized by localized or generalized complete depigmentation of skin and mucosa. It is caused by the disappearance of skin melanocyte function, but the mechanism is still unclear. It can occur in various parts of the body, usually around the back of fingers, wrists, forearms, face, neck and genitals. Female genitals can also occur, mostly young women.
