On June 15, the 2024 Dongguan Primary and Secondary School Maker Carnival hosted by Dongguan Municipal Education Bureau was held in Xintang Primary School, Houjie Town, Dongguan City.

Focusing on the theme of "Green and Beautiful Dongguan, Smart Creating the Future", 1286 primary and secondary students and 766 instructors from more than 200 primary and secondary schools in Dongguan fully demonstrated their talents and innovative spirit through five projects, namely, cultural and creative exhibition, creative production, design future, talk on paper and AI creative design.

In recent years, Dongguan has deeply implemented the action of "lighting up" science education, and promoted the first batch of science education experimental zones in primary and secondary schools in China. In view of the key links of science education, the "six actions", such as curriculum reform, quality improvement and scientific activities, were promoted as a whole, and efforts were made to create a new pattern of science education in primary and secondary schools with Dongguan characteristics. At present, the Maker Carnival for primary and secondary schools in Dongguan has been held for six consecutive times, and has become a landmark event in the education field of Dongguan. In the past six years, Guanyi students have given full play to their creativity and imagination, presenting impressive achievements and injecting new vitality into Dongguan's science and technology and innovation.

It is worth mentioning that in addition to local teachers and students, students from Tumushuke City, the Third Division of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, Tongren City, Guizhou Province, Jieyang City, Guangdong Province and other places were also invited to participate in this activity. They competed with students from Dongguan City on the other side of the mountains, rivers and seas, and communicated with each other to launch wonderful competitions.

About 2500 teachers and students from primary and secondary schools in the four cities actively participated in the activities through online and offline combination, breaking the space and time distance, helping to promote mutual scientific and innovation skills, and boosting the high-quality development of science and education in primary and secondary schools in Guantu, Tongjie and four cities through "science and education action".
