Xu Xinyi, a volunteer of Nanjing Youth Olympic Games, came to Nanjing Hongguang Middle School to teach us swimming lessons on November 4, XX. With a height of 2.00 meters and a weight of 90 kilograms, Popov is the king of short distance swimming and the most powerful short distance swimmer ever. He won gold medals in the 50m and 100m freestyle in Barcelona in 1992 and Atlanta in 1996. The students practiced repeatedly under Popov's personal guidance and made rapid progress. The close communication with Popov ignited the passion of students to participate in, serve and contribute to the Youth Olympic Games. Students have signed up for the school's dragon dance team, football team, cheerleading team and dance performance team. We exercise ourselves and increase our talents in various cultural and sports activities, and make contributions to making the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games a youth event, a sports event and a cultural event with practical actions. In XX year, our school won the first batch of Youth Olympic demonstration schools in Nanjing for its sunshine sports such as football league matches and its overall school running reputation. I once participated in the national finals of the Star of Outlook English Talent Competition in the CCTV broadcast hall because I am very fluent in spoken English. In order to better serve the Youth Olympic Games, I would like to play my own strengths and sign up to be a volunteer for the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games to serve the Youth Olympic Games with practical actions. If I am selected as a volunteer for the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games, I will welcome athletes and guests from all over the world in fluent English. After the athletes attend and watch the Games, if they are interested, I will take them to Zijin Mountain, Nanjing City Wall and other places to enjoy the scenic spots and historic sites in Nanjing, accompany them to Confucius Temple and other places to experience the long history and splendid culture of Nanjing, and take them to Science City and other places to experience the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship in Nanjing.
