Know how to grow up in watching, and gain strength in resistance.
This is my understanding and evaluation of the book after reading The Catcher in the Rye. The Catcher in the Rye, through the first person Holden? Caulfield told that after he was expelled from the school for the fourth time, he dared not rush home and spent a day or two alone in New York City, the most prosperous city in the United States. In this day or two of wandering, Holden? Caulfield saw all kinds of evils in capitalist society and contacted all kinds of people, most of whom were snobbish and hypocritical hypocrites, even Holden? Caulfield's most respected teacher is just the credo of bourgeois egoism: "The sign of an immature man is that he is willing to die bravely for a certain cause, and the sign of a mature man is that he is willing to live humbly for a certain cause." This is the ugliness and sadness of capitalist society.
When I first read this book, I was very disgusted with it. I thought that the hero opened his mouth "fucking" and shut his mouth "asshole", and did a lot of immoral things. I thought that this book was simply a failure -. But when I finished reading this book, I felt a sense of inexpressibility in my heart. I could not help feeling a little pity for the hero of the novel. He lived in a capitalist society, Although he can't stand the vulgar and hypocritical world and wants to resist, he lacks brilliant ideals and can't find a bright way out, so he is powerless to resist. His family let him learn just to "stand out, so that he can buy an asshole Cadillac in the future"!
School is not a good place, so, Holden? Caulfield has been living in contradiction all the time. How sad it is that he wants to resist but is unable to! To survive in the river of life depends on strength; Growing up in a vulgar society depends on resistance. No matter how good the material is, it cannot be compared to a bread of spirit. We should have our own ideas. We should not live in a muddle. We should rise to the difficulties, face the countercurrent of life, firmly paddle the oars of resistance, and work hard!
