Starting from Qingyang Palace in the western suburb of Chengdu, the capital of the Land of Abundance, along the Huanhua River to the west, you can come to a famous tourist attraction - the Thatched Cottage built by Du Fu, the "Saint of Poetry" of the Tang Dynasty, with the help of friends after coming to Chengdu in the winter of A.D. 759 to avoid "An Shi Rebellion". Numerous literati and literati of all ages have come to visit this resort. No wonder Mr. Feng Zhi said, "When people mention Du Fu, they can ignore his birthplace and death, but they can never forget Chengdu Thatched Cottage."
The biggest feature of the Thatched Cottage is quiet.
Entering the gate of Caotang Temple, you can immediately feel the ethereal elegance and mysterious atmosphere. As a result, I felt as if I had entered another world, away from the noisy downtown and crowd. Every tree, every grass, every air and every ray of sunshine here shows the seclusion of the Thatched Cottage.
In the garden, the bluestone path runs through, and the roadside trees depend on each other. A few trees and flowers can form their own small gardens, dotted with antique buildings and pavilions.
Enter the gate and go about 50 or 60 meters to the northwest. Then you come to the entrance of a path. The two bold characters "Thatched Cottage" on the entrance wall are striking. This is the screen wall of "Thatched Cottage" written by Zhou Shanpei, a personage in the late Qing Dynasty. Five or six meters after entering the path, there is a door, and a couplet written by Mr. Guo Moruo is hung on both sides: "Flowers learn red silk dance, and the path opens Jinli Spring.
Walking along the flower path alone, you will be able to imagine the scene of flowers and brocade clusters here and the path full of spring.
Now, a few clumps of green bamboos outside the red wall shade the winding path; The light wind is whispering through the bamboo shoots; The occasional birdsong adds a bit of comfort. Although there is no fragrance of Jinli flowers, it is more elegant than it was in those days, and indeed it can be said that "the grass and trees in the green suburbs are four times new". Go through the elegant flower path and turn right to a small bridge to Chaimen. It is clear that this gate in Du Fu's Thatched Cottage must have been made of firewood in those days, so it is called the "firewood gate". Today, it has been transformed into a beautiful and gorgeous "stone gate".
Stepping out of the Chaimen, we came to the "Gongbu Temple" hidden by green pines.
In the temple are statues of Du Gongbu, Huang Tingjian and Lu You, as well as stone carvings and inscriptions of the Thatched Cottage.
Du Gongbu wore a feather scarf, a purple shirt, and a red ribbon around his waist. His round face was red and affectionate, and his chest hung straight with a few green whiskers. The shape was lifelike, very solemn and admirable. There are two courtyards in front of the Ministry of Works Temple, one is "Water Bamboo House", and the other is "Qishouhang Pavilion". Three scattered buildings form a neat courtyard.
There are words and calligraphies left by celebrities and calligraphers in the hospital: either rich and round, or beautiful and healthy, or imposing, or elegant and exquisite, which is really pleasing to the eye. Outside the hospital, tall nanmu, green cedar and green wintersweet trees are planted, which shows the solemn and quiet appearance after discharge.
Beside the Lotus Pond on the east side of the Ministry of Works Temple, there is a thatched stele pavilion, in which a large black stone tablet is engraved with the four vigorous characters "Shaolin Thatched Cottage", surrounded by nine dragons. These dragons seemed to leap in the air and walk through the clouds. They looked very powerful and awe inspiring.
The stele pavilion is surrounded by a forest of green bamboos, swaying in the wind, green, healthy and beautiful, which is really popular.
While admiring these dark bamboos, which "absorb the green glow and are young", the scene of Du Fu's cottage in those days can't help but emerge in his eyes: "alder forest hinders the sun to sing leaves, cage bamboos and smoke to drop."
Go straight through the flower path to the famous "Poetry History Hall".
Since most of Du Fu's poems truly exposed the social contradictions at that time and reflected the experience of the Tang Dynasty from prosperity to decline, later generations hailed his poems as "the history of poetry", hence the name of this hall.
In the main hall of the history of poetry, there is an ancient bronze statue of Du Fu, with his beard in his hands and his eyebrows in his eyes, reflecting deeply on the fate of his country and his sympathy for the people.
The Poetry History Hall is connected to the winding corridors at both ends, and to the east and west exhibition halls of Du Fu's poetic paintings, forming a unique architectural complex.
Poetic paintings by famous painters for Du Fu's poems were displayed in each hall.
The lines of these paintings are bright and far-reaching, all of which better reflect the charm of Du Fu's poems. Most of them are based on more than 240 poems left by Du Fu when he lived in Chengdu Thatched Cottage, adding color to the ancient Du Fu Thatched Cottage.
In addition, the Thatched Cottage also has famous scenic spots such as Huanhua Temple, Shuiyuan, and the Grand Mixed Court, which are all good places to visit.
Why is Du Fu's Thatched Cottage so famous after only four years?
Because there is a beautiful scenery here that makes people linger and forget to return. More importantly, the superb poetic skill and noble poetic style of the poet are praiseworthy.
isn't it? Du Fu was so poor that he was never tired of the world. Even when he was extremely embarrassed when the roof was swept away by the autumn wind, he chanted "thousands of buildings will be built" for the sake of the suffering people all over the world. How can we not admire such a noble demeanor!
The Thatched Cottage is reserved for future generations, and the Sage of Poetry is written for thousands of years.
Du Fu Thatched Cottage will always be a shining pearl in our cultural treasure house!
