Today I read a book called Childhood, whose author is the famous writer Gorky. This book is about Gorky's childhood.

Our childhood is beautiful, happy, and there will be anything we want, but Gorky's childhood is not so happy, but sad and miserable. In this book, the father of the hero Alesha (Gorky's nickname) died tragically in his childhood, which caused great damage to Alesha's young soul. Having lost the support of the family, she only depended on her mother and grandmother, and later followed her grandmother to her grandfather's home.

But here, Alesha did not live a good life. He saw many ugly people here. His uncles fought against each other for property, fooled the weak, and beat children. However, he was sympathized by his grandmother, who often told Alesha many good stories. Alesha was influenced by the stories told by her grandmother and grew up healthily, unlike his uncles.

Aleosha loved reading when he was young. His spirit of eager and desperate reading touched people, but he also suffered a lot and often cried for humiliation and bullying. But he never gave up and still insisted on reading. He contacted the poor working people, went deep into the society, and absorbed knowledge from books hungrily, so that he really grew up and eventually became a literary master.

From this book, I think Gorky became a great litterateur only because he hated the bad habits of ordinary people, pursued freedom and yearned for a better life when he was young.

How wonderful our life is now. It's a world away from Gorky. So we should cherish the beautiful life now. I think we have a happier childhood than Gorky, and we will certainly have a better future than Gorky. Let's study hard together!
