The seven step washing method is a widely standard hand washing method at present, which can remove dirt and bacteria on the hands, prevent contact infection, and reduce the spread of infectious diseases. According to the Rules of the Medical Personnel's Hand Specifications, the standard hand washing method is the seven step washing method, which takes a total of 70-105 seconds, 10-15 seconds per step.
The steps of the seven step washing method: the first step: wash hands, wet hands with running water, apply hand sanitizer (or soap), palm to palm, fingers together and rub each other;
Step 2: wash the back side finger seam, rub the palm of the hand against the back along the finger seam, and exchange hands;
Step 3: wash the palmar side of the finger seam, palm to palm, cross hands and rub each other along the finger seam;
Step 4: wash the back of your fingers, bend the joints of your fingers, half clench your fist, put the back of your fingers on the palm of the other hand, rotate and rub, and exchange your hands;
Step 5: wash your thumb, hold the thumb of the other hand, rotate and rub it, and exchange your hands;
Step 6: wash fingertips, bend each finger joint, close the fingertips in the palm of the other hand, rotate and rub, and exchange hands;
Step 7: wash wrists, rub wrists and arms, and exchange hands. The seven step washing technique has a simple formula: inside, outside, clip, bow, big, upright, wrist.
