Huaiyuan is a city in Anhui Province. It belongs to Bengbu City, Anhui Province. It is located in the north of Anhui Province, in the middle reaches of the Huaihe River, at the southern end of the Huaibei Plain, bordering Guzhen, Bengbu and Fengyang in the east, Huainan in the south, Fengtai and Mengcheng in the west, and Suixi and Suzhou in the north.
Huaiyuan County is known as the "Pearl on the Huaihe River", a popular flower drum lantern, and places of interest include White Milk Spring, Bianhe Cave, Wanghuai Tower, etc. In August 2018, the Anhui Provincial People's Government approved Huaiyuan County to withdraw from poverty-stricken counties. It is 62.25 kilometers long from north to south, 38.41 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total area of 2391.02 square kilometers. It is 119 kilometers away from Hefei, the provincial capital.
There are Dahong Mountain in the southeast of Huaiyuan County, Ping'a Mountain in the southwest, Jing Mountain and Tu Mountain in the south of the county seat facing each other across the Huaihe River, and the rest are plains. Huaiyuan County is located in the transition zone from the northern subtropical zone to the warm temperate zone, and has the climate characteristics of the north and south, belonging to the warm temperate zone semi humid monsoon agricultural climate zone. The four seasons are distinct and the rainfall is moderate.
