In China, geomantic omen is a very mysterious science with scientific basis. Feng shui master is a profession with knowledge of feng shui, who is entrusted to judge whether feng shui is good or bad, and modify it when necessary. Usually, Feng Shui masters also have the skills of divination, physiognomy, and date selection. There are many people who can be called geomantic masters in history, but they all have to recognize one person as their ancestor, Guo Pu. Anyone who has a little knowledge of Chinese geomancy theory must know this person.
He is a native of Wenxi County, Hedong County (today's Wenxi County, Shanxi Province), the son of Guo Yuan, the governor of Jianping, a famous litterateur, exegetist, and geomantic scholar in the Jin Dynasty, good at ancient Chinese and strange characters, good at astronomy, calendar, divination, good at poetry and fu, and the founder of immortal poems.
Guo Pu is a well-known litterateur and exegetist in the history of Chinese literature. At the end of the Western Jin Dynasty, the internal struggle for power and profit in the imperial court of the Jin Dynasty led to the "Rebellion of the Eight Kings" and foreign invasion. At that time, Guo Pu was only 20 years old and had to leave his hometown Wenxi County, Shanxi Province, to seek refuge in the south. When he came to Jiankang (today's Nanjing), he stayed at a friend's house near the Houhu Lake (today's Xuanwu Lake). He often goes to the Houhu Lake for a walk and recites poems to relieve his depression.

In May this year, just after the Dragon Boat Festival, Guo Pu came to today's Huanzhou, looking east at Jiangshan (Zhongshan) and north at Shihui (Mufu Mountain), and felt relaxed and happy. Suddenly, a string of silvery laughter came from the water. Guo Pu saw several small boats of picking Ling walking through the lotus flowers, and a girl was still singing the song of picking Ling. After a while, the boat suddenly tilted, stood on the bow of the singing girl's side, and fell into the water. Several girls in the boat screamed.
Unable to undress, Guo Pu jumped into the water and pulled the girl onto the bank.
Several girls in the boat cheered when they saw that someone had been saved. One girl said, "Linger, don't take your son home to change clothes!" Guo Pu said, "Not busy, not busy!" No matter what, everyone gathered around him and walked to the girl's house. On the way, Ling'er's parents had already heard the news and were going to invite her home. When Guo Pu saw that it was hard to give up his kindness, he had to go to Linger's house. Change into a coarse cloth suit. Although Guo Pu changed his coarse clothes, he was very polite and elegant, which made the people present admire him very much. After the old man repeatedly begged, Guo Pu left his name and address before leaving Linger's house. Linger sent him out and said to Guo Pu, "Please take care." On the third day, the old man and Linger came to find Guo Pu, but Guo Pu had already left.
Ten years later, the capital of Jin has moved to Jiankang. Emperor Yuan of Jin took Wang Dun as the Zhendong Grand General. Guo Pu joined the army in Wang Dun's Ren Ji Office and often went in and out of the palace. Every time he goes to Wang Dun's home, he always feels that a middle-aged maid always pays attention to herself, and her eyes are so familiar. But I can't remember. Wang Dun has long felt like usurping the throne because of his high achievements and power. Wang Dun didn't like Guo Pu's outspoken words, but because Guo Pu was talented, famous, and proficient in the divination of yin and yang, he had to rely on him. One day Guo Pu came to the palace. The middle-aged woman walked up to her and said softly, "Don't you remember your servant when Guo joined the army?" After a while, Guo Puduan couldn't remember. The woman was just about to say something when she heard Wang Dun's footsteps. She had to say, "Please take care of yourself, sir," and then turned away.
Wang Dun sat down and said, "Lord Guo.
Please take a divination to see how I will be in the future. " Before Guo Pu started divining, Wang Dun said with a smile, "Yesterday, a Taoist said that I had the appearance of the Son of Heaven, but what do you think?" Guo Pu took a divination and used the topic to illustrate the truth that usurping the throne was a great evil, and said that if I wanted to rebel, the divination would be bad. Hearing this, Wang Dun immediately lowered his face. Guo Pu was shocked and suddenly remembered that the woman had told him to "treasure". Feeling that his situation is very dangerous, he thought carefully that the maid was Linger who met by chance in Houhu ten years ago.
At this time, Wang Dun had already started to kill. Soon, he found an excuse to take Guo Pu to Xuanwu Lake to kill him. When Ling'er knew about it, she cried bitterly for many times. She regretted that she had failed to save her life. Wang Dun later failed in his rebellion. Emperor Ming of the Jin Dynasty admired Guo Pu's murder. He wanted to build a monument for Guo Pu's tomb, but his body could not be found. Ling Er gave Guo Pu's clothes, which had been preserved for more than ten years, and buried them by the Xuanwu Lake. This is the origin of Guo Pu's Clothing Tomb.
