Guo Pu is a well-known litterateur and exegetist in the history of Chinese literature. At the end of the Western Jin Dynasty, the internal struggle for power and profit in the imperial court of the Jin Dynasty led to the "Rebellion of the Eight Kings" and foreign invasion. At that time, Guo Pu was only 20 years old and had to leave his hometown Wenxi County, Shanxi Province, to seek refuge in the south.
