1. Seeding time: lotus seeds have no dormancy period and can be sown in all seasons. Under the conditions of suitable temperature and light, it takes 50-60 days from sowing to flowering in spring, and 60-80 days in autumn.
2. Seed treatment: Before seed soaking, artificial breaking must be carried out. One end of the lotus seed has a small tip and the other end has a small concave point. Grind the end with small pits on the rough cement floor or use pliers to cut a small opening. Be careful not to hurt the seed embryo or remove the shell.
3. Soaking seeds for germination: the water temperature in summer is 20 ℃ - 30 ℃, which is very suitable for lotus seed germination. The water should soak the seeds. It can also be placed indoors or outdoors. Change the water three times a day, and it can germinate within one week. After budding, it should be placed in the sunny place to strengthen the light, without water shortage. When the root system is formed, it can enter the mud.
4. Mud feeding: select a bottomless container with a diameter of 18 cm~50 cm and a depth of 15 cm~30 cm, and add half of the pond mud in the basin without fertilization. When transplanting, press the fine roots of Xiaohe seedlings into the mud, and let all seeds into the mud to make the leaves stretch freely on the water surface. After planting, keep 5~15cm water layer, but do not submerge all unfolded leaves in water.
5. Autumn and winter management: The lotus seeds are delicate and vulnerable to freezing damage, so they should be stored at 0-5 ℃ in case of low temperature.
