1. Tsinghua University: Tsinghua University for short, was born in 1911, named after the Tsinghua Park located in the northwest suburb of Beijing. Originally known as Tsinghua University, it is a preparatory school for studying in the United States set up by the Qing government and one of the most famous universities in China.
2. Xi'an Jiaotong University: It is a national key comprehensive research university, one of the seven universities in the first batch of key construction projects of the National 211 Project, and one of the nine universities in the first batch of key construction projects of the 985 Project. It has been identified by the country as a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education with the goal of building a world famous high-level university.
3. Zhejiang University: The predecessor of Qiushi Academy, founded in 1897, is one of the earliest modern institutions of higher learning founded by the Chinese themselves. In 1928, it was renamed National Zhejiang University.
4. Peking University: Peking University for short, was born in 1898, initially known as the Peking University. It is the first national university in modern China, and also the first school established as a university. Its establishment marks the beginning of modern higher education in China.
5. Shanghai Jiaotong University: located in Shanghai, the economic and financial center of China, directly under the Ministry of Education, a comprehensive national key university with the characteristics of science and engineering, covering nine disciplines including science, engineering, medicine, economics, management, literature and law.
