Westernization Movement had no enterprises in Northeast China.
Enterprises founded by Westernization Movement:
Military industry: Anqing Nei Ordnance Institute, Jiangnan Machinery Manufacturing Bureau, Fuzhou Shipbuilding Bureau, Beiyang Machinery Bureau, Lanzhou Manufacturing Bureau, Hanyang Arsenal.
Civil industry: Ship Investment Promotion Bureau, Kaiping Coal Mine, Hubei textile layout.
1. Anqing Inner Armory Institute: It was founded by Zeng Guofan in 1861 in Huangshiji, Huaining, Anhui Province, and Anqing Daguanting Pavilion. It is the first modern arsenal officially run by the westernization movement in the late Qing Dynasty, and the first military workshop established by the Qing government to manufacture modern weapons by hand.
2. Jiangnan Machinery Manufacturing Bureau, also known as Shanghai Machinery Bureau, is a modern military industrial production organization established in the Westernization Movement of the Qing Dynasty and the most important military factory in late Qing China.
3. Jinling Machinery Manufacturing Bureau: Jinling Machinery Manufacturing Bureau was born in the fourth year of Tongzhi (1865). Li Hongzhang was promoted from the governor of Jiangsu Province to acting governor of Liangjiang, built a factory on the ruins of Xitian Temple, the east end of broom lane outside Jubao Gate (today's Zhonghua Gate), and opened Jinling Machinery Manufacturing Bureau.
4. Fuzhou Shipbuilding Bureau: also known as Fujian Shipbuilding Bureau, it was founded in 1866 by Zuo Zongtang, Governor of Fujian and Zhejiang in the late Qing Dynasty. It is the most important warship production base shipyard in modern China.
5. Ship Investment Promotion Bureau: the first large-scale ship shipping enterprise established at the end of the Qing Dynasty, and also the first modern civil enterprise operated by the Qing government. In 1872, Li Hongzhang, the representative of the Westernization Movement, made preparations for investment promotion, which was actually jointly run by officials and businesses.
7. Beiyang Machinery Bureau: generally refers to Tianjin Machinery Bureau, referred to as "Tianjin Machinery Bureau". Government run military enterprises. In the sixth year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1867), Chonghou, the minister of commerce of Sankou, was founded in Tianjin. It was initially named "General Administration of Arms and Machinery". The start-up cost is more than 200000 taels, second only to Jiangnan Manufacturing Bureau. In the ninth year, Li Hongzhang, the governor of Zhili, took over and changed his name to "Tianjin Machinery Manufacturing Bureau".
8. Hubei Weaving Layout: Hubei Weaving Layout was in 1888 when Zhang Zhidong, the governor of Guangdong and Guangxi, set up the official weaving bureau in Guangzhou to purchase machines from Britain. From 1911 to 1938, it was leased by Dawei, Chuxing, Chu'an, Kaiming, Fuyuan and Minsheng.
9. Kaiping Coal Mine: Kaiping Mining Bureau, namely Kaiping Coal Mine, was a large new type of coal mining enterprise run by officials and businessmen after the beginning of the Westernization Movement in the late Qing Dynasty. Located in Kaiping District, Luanzhou, now Kaiping District, Tangshan City. It is one of the important civil enterprises set up by the Westernization Group to assist the military industry.
10. Hanyang Arsenal was a military manufacturing enterprise founded by Zhang Zhidong, the representative of the Westernization Movement in the late Qing Dynasty, after he came to Hubei. It was originally called Hubei Gun Factory, which was started in 1892 and completed in 1894.
