2. Story: Li Bai, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, was fond of playing and didn't like learning when he was young. His father sent him to school to study in order to make him become a talent. However, it was difficult to learn the books of classics, history and various schools of thought. He was even more reluctant to learn them, and sometimes he went out to play secretly. One day, Li Bai did not go to school and ran to a small river to play. Suddenly, I saw a white haired old woman squatting beside a millstone by the river and grinding an iron rod. Li Bai asked curiously, "Grandma, what are you doing?" "I'm sharpening a needle." The grandma answered as she sharpened it. "Grind the needle! Use such a thick iron bar to grind a fine flower needle. When can you grind it?" Li Bai blurted out. The old woman raised her head, stopped her hand, and said kindly to Li Bai, "My child, although the iron bar is thick, it can't stop me from grinding it every day. Drops of water can pierce the stone. Can't the iron bar be ground into a needle?" Li Bai was very moved by the old woman's words. "Yes," thought Li Bai, "as long as you have perseverance and are not afraid of difficulties, you can do everything well every day. Isn't reading the same?" He turned and ran back to school. From then on, he studied hard and finally became a famous poet.
