From 2020, we will recruit twice a year and retire twice a year. After two conscriptions a year and two retirements, the time of conscription is divided into the first half of the year and the second half of the year. In the first half of the year, conscription starts in the middle of February and ends at the end of March. The time when recruits are approved for enlistment is March 1; In the second half of the year, conscription began in the middle of August and ended at the end of September. The time when recruits were approved for enlistment was September 1.
2020 "two levies and two withdrawals" reform
The term of active service for conscripts is two years, and the time for soldiers to retire corresponds to their approved time for active service.
After the adjustment and reform of the recruitment time, the total number of new recruits remains stable compared with previous years, the conditions, standards, procedures and relevant policies for recruitment remain unchanged, and the objects of recruitment are still focused on college students. In the first half of the year, we will focus on the recruitment of former graduates from various colleges and universities at all levels, graduates from higher vocational colleges and all kinds of social skilled talents. In the second half of the year, we will focus on the recruitment of new graduates, current students and freshmen from various colleges and universities at all levels. Focusing on providing equal opportunities for outstanding young people to enlist in the armed forces, after the reform, all provinces, cities and counties in the country will organize two conscriptions at the same time. Counties (cities and districts) with a small number of conscription tasks can be organized by the city where they are located, or by neighboring counties (cities and districts).
