Attention shall be paid to the planting of bamboo shoots:
1. Soil selection: The quality and pH of the soil directly affect the yield and quality of bamboo shoots. Generally, it is better to choose a slightly acidic sandy loam with fertile land, deep soil layer, loose soil, good ventilation, strong water retention, good drainage, and rich organic matter. Avoid the land with shallow farming layer, hard subsoil, strong acid or alkaline heavy clay or gravel.
2. Seedling planting: before planting, dig and level the land deeply, and open a north-south ditch with a line spacing of 1, 2 to 1, 5 meters. The ditch is 30 to 40 cm wide and 25 to 30 cm deep. According to the local climate, it can be transplanted and planted in late March or early April when the bamboo shoots reach the age of 60 to 80 days.
3. Timely watering: generally, water diluted manure once 7 to 10 days after planting to facilitate the living roots and slow seedlings. In order to ensure the normal growth of plants, water once every other week or so to ensure that there is enough water in the soil. In case of dry weather, water it once 3 to 5 days to keep the soil moist at any time.
4. Frequent application of fertilizer: In the initial stage of planting, light fertilizer should be applied frequently to promote the early emergence of young seedlings. In the growth period, sufficient nutrients should be provided to promote their growth and development. At this time, a small amount of quick acting fertilizer should be applied, which can be 10 to 20 kg per mu.
